Q: Why are you so passionate about promoting Maori and Pacific health?
These are the people who are leading all the bad health statistics. I want to help turn those numbers around and with Fitness15 it is easy to monitor your progress and it puts the onus back on the individual to take responsibility for their decisions. It is easy to blame other circumstances such as family, work or poverty but there is so many good decisions people can make regardless of their personal situations.
Q: You are now the father of 11 month old twins. How has that affected your training program?
I'm just training smarter and I incorporate them into my workouts. I push them up One Tree Hill most mornings and finish off with some lunges and a kick around with the ball. They enjoy the fresh air and I get a great cardio workout pushing 30kg pram around.
Q: You are launching Fitness15 in Samoa in 2009. How will you ensure the program is in good hands?
My good friend Nina VonReiche from Xtreme Performance will be hosting the program. She has been at bootcamp in my home; eating, sleeping and training for the program. She knows it inside out and is a great motivator. Fitness15 Samoan style will be in great hands.
Q: What are your goals for Fitness15?
To continue to build on the great relationships the program has developed and welcome new clubs on board. To get Fitness15 into as many households as possible. I will also be going to the United Kingdom in May to look at launching the program over there. We have had lots of enquiries from Australia and so there may be opportunities to get Australia launching too.

Tony Ligaliga will be profiling Maori and Pacific people who
are using Fitness15 to improve their health and that of those around them. But first we want to profile the man himself.
Q: How do you always stay in great shape?
I use the principles of Fitness15 everyday, making sure
I am always doing at least 9 positive contributions towards
my health.
