You have been using Fitness15 for the past 12 months now, how easy has it been to implement the principles of the programme?

I don't think you can use the word 'easy' and 'implement something new' in the same phrase.  Not that it has been difficult.... just challenging as you are basically talking about trying to instigate behavioral change. The culture in Samoa surrounds heavily around food and eating so implementing a weight and health management system is going to be challenging. Despite this we have had some very exciting successes.

On average how much have your clients been losing during the programme?

The average weight loss has been between 7-8kgs for the 6 week programme. The real results though are of course the drop in measurements with an average loss of 8cms or 3.2inches off waist measurements. There are always the super stars who do great things such as Michelle who has lost a total of 44kgs in a little over a year just consistently following the Fitness15 Health and Weight Management Programme.

Why do you think your team have got what it takes to win the weight loss section of the inter-gym challenge?

Well they are a group who understand the importance of why they need to get on the
Fitness15 Programme primarily because for many it’s the difference between managing a pre-diabetic state or succumbing to a life-long dependence on medication.  In addition to this, there is a drive to excel as Samoans are innately a competitive people and they are confident that a tool like the Fitness15 program can give them the template to success.

You represented Samoa at the South Pacific bodybuilding championships, have you got any plans to compete in 2010?

I always think no, but I always prove myself a liar because I do enjoy the lead up training journey to a competition and I am always up for a challenge. I haven't yet won Gold  at the South Pacific Champs level so that is a driving factor; however I have just expanded my PT studio to offering spin classes on top of a  bootcamp programme so it could be a tight, tight schedule. Still not closing the door to competing at South Pacific Champs in New Caledonia in 2010.

Any suggestions for trainers or gyms thinking about implementing
Fitness15 with their clients?

It is a user-friendly, client-friendly system. It takes out a lot of hard work so the programme makes your life easier as a gym owner, as a PT and certainly as a client.
